Last Summer Day

I just found out today's the official last day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. I never realised how big a deal summer was till we got to NYC. Summer is start of play time, outdoor gigs, BBQs, roof top parties, weekends at the Hamptons, beach getaways at Shelter Island and the Cape. People start making lists way ahead of summer then in a drop of a hat, it's gone.

Poo.

And like clockwork, days get shorter. Dusk sets in at 7 and dawn breaks at 6. Though brilliant sunshine is almost always a guarantee, the winds do get more brisk.

Here's to the new season. Fall. Guess I jumped the gun a little, with the post below.
