Taste the rainbow

In this city, the predominant colour of choice for the majority of New Yorkers run the gamut of neutral palettes from black, navy, grey, cream, and black. And in winter, the sea of black becomes more apparent. Coats, beanies, gloves, boots, leggings. Uhhuhh.

Even before moving to New York, I (and the hubs!) have to confess my wardrobe didn't stray too far from the above either.

So how do I stand out from this wave of monotony? Lucky for me, I've always been a huge fan of accessories, so my taste of rainbow comes in the form of a sunkist-orange bag, a pair of lemon-yellow tights, a grey fedora with a big red bow or a electric blue scarf. OR you could simply try these interesting unusual-yet-it-works colour combinations, as seen on Refinery 29, which would help to ease the winter blues, or blacks away.

My favourite is the Marigold and Neutral palette, followed by Maroon and Mint. What's yours?
