North of Boston:

Marblehead, Essex, Ipswich, Salem, Gloucester. Done. Our trip, just the 2 of us, was so much fun (albeit a little tiring for poor ol' me), as we spent the day discovering the rest of New England beyond Boston. If I may describe the size of this city, its um.. maybe about Holland V, Orchard, Raffles Place, Shenton Way, City Hall and Suntec combined. Or maybe half of Jurong?? Its really tiny and one can cover the entire city, on foot, might I add, in say 2 days? (Yesyes Boston isn't only boring, its TEEEEEENY! But. Its quaint. And pretty. Especially in summer!) So my point is, just an hour drive out takes you to a whole new different world. One that is (even) more laid back, quaint and quite European in a charming way.. (ok 'cept the deeeeep-fried 10000-calorie oil-soaked battered shrimp, fries and onion rings!)
