Today, our nation turns 45.
Young, compared to most countries, tiny compared to other cities, yet remarkably commendable in terms of what we've achieved and stand for as a country.
Determined to prove that size doesn't matter, we've come against all odds to show the rest of the world what Singapore is capable of. We've achieved so much - there is plenty to be proud of.
It is true what they say. You don't realise what's important to you until you lose it. Even though I'm not home to celebrate our nation's birthday today, my heart will always belong to Singapore.
