Spent the long weekend in LA with the hubs for my birthday. This time the traffic situation seemed more pronounced than the our earlier visits, which obviously didn't bode well for my motion sickness. I felt like I had vertigo the entire time there. Bleh.
We also dropped by the Getty Center for a photo exhibition by Herb Ritts. Pretty stunning. That night, hubs brought me to Ink LA - a restaurant by Top Chef Michael Voltaggio. The experience was great - the cooking technique itself deserved to be applauded. It was a play on textures and ingredients, and the surprising mix of flavours was both tantalising and unexpected.
On Sunday we drove down south to Orange County to visit Ru and her husband. It was nice get away from LA and Santa Monica. Hubs managed to get his only dose of sand and sea in the two weeks he was out west!
Now back in NYC. One year older, one year wiser.
